If you carry concealed with an empty chamber, you will die a horrible death, and that Korean boy band with pink and blue hair, BTS, will sing your eulogy. #Fact.

So, I won't spoil the whole story, but just suppose, an acorn fell from a tree, starting an officer shortly after capturing a suspect. Then the magazine dumps begin, calls for backup and "officer down" start going out. And then... the facts become clear through the fog of, well, in this case, all out war.

I think it was Mike Tyson who modernized Helmut Moltke's combat wisdom, offering the nugget, "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." The notorious Dalton gang had a plan to rob two banks at the same time in Coffeeville, Kansas. until the town punched them right back.

Everyone offers a self-defense training program, but how many self-defense training centers put you in the middle of everyday training scenarios and help you practice your response over and over until you get it right? Ohttps://americanhandgunner.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Appendix-Carry-Lessons-1-e1701980388229.jpgne day, I woke up with a fleeting glimpse of common sense and decided to try appendix carry before continuing to pass judgment. What a novel concept! After some thought, I figured I ought to give it a long-term try. If it was going to be anything like the transition from not carrying a gun to carrying concealed daily, I figured I was in for plenty of trial and error — a short “try and judge” strategy wasn’t going to cut it.

When I embarked on a multi-month experiment to see what all the fuss was about with appendix carry, I encountered the exact same challenges you describe. Now, I carry a full-size, double-stack Staccato P model 2011 appendix every day, even while sitting and spending hours in the car.

I’m saying you can carry a larger gun concealed — every day even. To be clear, I’m not talking about one more powerful or in a larger caliber. I’m talking about a handgun physically bigger than the pocket micro mini subatomic ultra-compacts all the rage these days.

Humans are naturally confident, bordering on arrogant. In our minds, we’ve got all the correct answers, and for those situations we haven’t yet experienced, we assume we’ll make the right choices on the fly. We’re awesome like that.Gunfighting schools, on the other hand, are a force created by the universe to expose and counterbalance our genetic hubris. These diametrically opposed forces of nature are like gravity and orbital velocity — the reasons our hunk of rock topped with flawed humanity doesn’t crash into the sun or zoom past Pluto.
