This issue, including my favorite gun stories of the week, just may cost you some money. You’re welcome. But in fairness, who can resist buying another .22 pistol, especially if it’s a different style than the ones you already have?
Tanks have guns too, so we’re going to talk about a DIY tank some clever GIs created back in WW II to help the Allies smash through the dangerous hedgerow country as they tried to dash across France. A fascinating, and true, tale of human ingenuity that saved many, many lives.
If you carry a snubbie for defense, read about Lindsey’s experiments with .38 Special penetration. Whether you reload ammo or not, you’ll learn something about the rounds you might be carrying.
As always, feel free to reply to any of these emails with love, hate, ideas or whatever else is on your mind.
Until next time,
Tom

You Don’t Need a .22; You Need 3…
There’s nothing more fun than a .22LR pistol, except maybe a .22LR rifle, depending on how you roll. My forthcoming Presidential Run campaign slogan will be simple. A plinker in every home; preferably two.
Clayton shows three examples of “types” of .22 handguns every shooting enthusiast should have. Read this and have your credit card handy.

.38 Special Penetration, Part 1
My friend Lindsey, and American Handgunner magazine Handloading columnist is a curious geek. And I mean that in the most complimentary way, because I’m one too. When he’s not busy training to kill hordes of invaders using nothing more than a cocktail napkin, he’s toiling away in his reloading cave, and later the range, to experiment, concoct and test handgun loads and their resulting performance.
Here’s an interesting case in point regarding .38 Special Penetration…

A coupe of resourceful depression-era guys figured out an amazing solution which saved countless lives and tanks, opening up the territory for more rapid advancement. Here’s the story…

A Handy Pocket Light
Ever since I started carrying a flashlight in my pocket, I’ve used it every day without fail. Whether looking for lost items on the rug or under furniture, doing something outside at night, or (fill in infinite uses here), I get my money’s worth.
For traditional EDC use, I use a Streamlight Wedge. For always-with-me-no-matter-what use, I have a PocketMate on my keychain. For everything else, there’s the Microstream.
