Happiness Is a Full Auto 300 Blackout. Suppressed of course…
I had a chance to shoot the brand new Sig MCX here at SHOT Show.
It comes is several variants including a rifle, short-barreled rifle (SBR) and pistol. The model shown here is the Sig MCX SBR with side folding stock. It’s also got a SRD762 QD silencer which makes this an incredibly quiet and smooth shooter. I shot this with Sig’s new 300 Blackout subsonic ammo loaded with 220 grain Sierra Matchking projectiles. Thump, thump thump, but quieter!
It’s hard to describe the MCX simply as the system is modular and lends itself to near-infinite configurations. As it’s a piston-based gas design, there’s no need for a buffer tube. Shot stocks, folding stocks, arm braces or no stock at all are all possible configurations. Multiple KeyMod handguard options are available, some with internal suppressor support, so you can make the overall package really short while providing protection from hot silencer tubes.
We’ll have more on this soon.
Got something to say?
