One of those myths that will never, ever die in the history of forever is that a handgun will physically “knock someone down.” We’ve heard it all…
“A 9mm won’t, but my .45 will knock someone right out of their shoes!”
Anyway, we made this video to show some stuff. Mainly that bullets make holes but don’t have that much “knockdown” momentum. Sure, people fall, jump, crumble, and sometimes to nothing at all when hit with a handgun. Those results are for many different reasons, just not the momentum of bullets.

Without the bulletproof vest, which stopped the bullet, the props wouldn’t have fallen. By stopping the bullet, the vest absorbed more of the bullet energy.
Yep – The opening sequence shows that. We used the vest to give the myth the “best possible” chance of succeeding 🙂
