As I write this I’m open my way back from Elite Shooting Sports in Manassas, Virginia where I had the opportunity to shoot a lot of brand new pistols from a very old company. It’s been a long, long time since I got blisters from a day at the pistol range – that’s how much shooting we packed in.

The big news from Beretta is that they’ve redesigned the famous 92 series pistol, now to be known as the 92X family. Initially there will be four models: a Full Size, a Centurion, and two Compacts. All have accessory rails except the second Compact variant, which is available with a smooth dust cover. We’ll be covering these pistols in detail in the near future, so for now, know that the 92X family adds in those features Beretta aficionados have been wanting for years.

In related news, the company is also launching new APX models including a Centurion RDO ready for most any optic sight on the market. It’s available with or without a threaded barrel. Also note the new APX Competition long slide model, also optic ready. Last but not least is a Compact APX in flat dark earth.

Here are some pics from our day of shooting. Stay tuned…
